Extreme Center

Have you previously considered the arrangement of PV modules in a specific area and how the position of each module can impact recorded data such as temperature, soiling, radiation, and also the generated power ?

When preparing the test report for a PV Plant, a measurement procedure should be conducted for both extreme and central modules. What sets them apart, and why do they yield different readings despite being installed at the same fixed tilt angle and in the same region?

Extreme modules refer to those positioned at the edges of the structure, while center modules are situated between the extreme modules. Both have the same tilt angle. However, during the testing procedure, there may be slight variations in the readings of these modules.

The difference in readings can be attributed to various factors. Extreme modules benefit from increased air circulation and sky exposure due to their location in the array. Cooling is influenced by wind direction, speed, and the presence of convection cells, as well as any obstructions hindering local air movement. Consequently, the extreme modules located at the ends of rows, either at the top or bottom, may experience different conditions compared to the centrally located stacked modules.
